Stretching for Bondage
15 minutes per day to a more flexible you.

Many people look at the Japanese style box-tie and dismiss any possibility of achieving this beautiful combination of bondage and yoga asana. In my own class “Building the Perfect Hug” I have shown how the box-tie can be modified by folding the hands in front, or adapting rope handcuffs to fit folks with less flexible shoulders.

This worked but I felt there had to be a better answer.

Flash-forward to ShibariCon 2011. My sciatica was acting up after sitting for class so I moved off to the side to began running through a gravity yoga routine that I have been using to keep that injury under control.

While I stretched I overheard one person tell their partner, “Wow, that guy is flexible.”
I thought to myself, “I didn’t use to be…”, and then the fireworks went off. People could use this simple collection of poses to achieve their dream of being tied into that box-tie they admire so much.

Here was something I could bring to the table that would help people do better, longer lasting, safer bondage. And best yet you only have to devote 15 minutes a day, 5 days per week to meet your goals.

Not Just for Bondage Bottoms
In addition to better bondage, there are benefits that will spill over into regular life as well.
Benefits such as:
• Increased Range of Motion
• Better Sleep
• Relief from Lower Back Pain
• Injury Prevention
• Increased Flexibility
• Better Sleep
• Better Circulation
• Better Posture
• Relief from Nervous Tension
Do you practice yoga? These stretches are designed to improve your practice by opening up your shoulders, hips, lower back, and legs.

Have you practiced martial arts for a few years? Are you feeling a little pain under your right shoulder blade? How about your elbow, and just under your thumb?

Flexibility is your whole world my friend. These stretches will help you continue to enjoy your art form for years to come.

In this class I will lead you through a 10 min pre-bondage warm up routine, followed by simple, powerful, and effective stretches that will give you fast results and are suitable for all levels.

What to Bring:
• Loose fitting comfortable clothes like you wear to a yoga class or to the gym.
• Yoga mats and a blanket, we will be on the floor for much of the class.
• Yoga Blocks, or Towels that we will use as props.
• Water and post class snacks to give you the energy to get home.

Due to the room limitations this class will be limited to 12 people.

Click Here to be taken to the fetlife event page.

This class will be RSVP only. Please contact me (Mateo) at nwmateo@gmail.com to reserve your spot.

Peace

1. Extra! Extra!
Hey gang!  A couple of things have developed that I thought you might want to know about.  Thus the extra edition of the newsletter.

First a big thank you to everyone that came out to the November focus group.
To quote Willow:
What a fantastic meet-up that was! A smaller group, but no less lively than usual. Quite a few new faces (Welcome-welcome HUGS) and some familiar favorites! On a personal note, my suspending-someone-other-than-me cherry was popped! Still needs much practice, but my 2 victi...er volunteers were making happy noises and seemed to have a good time. :D OH! And the mini-pies! sigh Thank you, Miss Rachael. grin We made a nice donation to the EHM as a group, as well! Thank you all for coming out and having fun with us. Until next time, fair winds!

The next focus group is set for Sunday December 11th.  Have a great Thanksgiving!

2. Reverse Tensionz Featured on Graydancer's Ropecast
Did ya know that we got featured on Graydancer's Ropecast?  Yup, it's true Gray was in town for the Erotic Author's Association Conference and took time away from his busy schedule to visit our September focus group.

Gray interview's several familiar folks including Dorian Gomez, the curator of the Erotic Heritage Museum.  All the while you can hear the happy sounds of a typical rope focus group in progress.  Thank you Graydancer for such a positive look at what we have happening here in Las Vegas!

Follow the link to be taken to Graydancer's Ropecast and give it a listen, you can also find the Ropecast on iTunes.
If you like it be sure to head over to iTunes and toss Gray a good rating as well as a comment.  He showed us some love, let's return the favor!

I was really moved while listening to this.  Once again I have been blown away with what a fantastic bunch of people make up Reverse Tensionz, and just how much progress we have made over the past few years.

I am amazingly proud of you!  It is truly a privilege to rope with you guys!

3. Midori's Rope Bondage Dojo® Registration Opens Dec. 1st!
I just received word from Midori that registration for the next Rope Bondage Dojo® will open on December 1st at 8am Pacific time.  This is my favorite rope event of them all and I highly recommend this intensive weekend to any ropester that wants to take his or her rope-work to the next level.

The next Dojo will be held Jan. 14th - 15th 2012 at the Citadel in San Francisco.
Catch all the details by following the link below.

I hope to see you there!

4. Shibaricon Registration Open Already!
Its twue!  Its twue!  It is twue what they say!  The granddaddy of all rope events is accepting registrations as we speak!

Thanks Again...

..for an awesome Sunday afternoon.

Once more this group has made me very proud of the Las Vegas Community!

The Rope Focus Group met again yesterday and I would like to thank everyone that came out. I met some new people, saw a wide range of rope styles and even heard some giggling (and maybe even some spanking).

...gasp...

Thanks to your generosity the group raised close to $125.00. We donated $100 to the Erotic Heritage Museum and our treasurer Willow will be hanging onto the remainder to be used for the group's benefit.

I would also like to thank Graydancer for taking the time to visit and I am looking forward to hearing some of the interviews taken for his kinky podcast:Graydancer's Ropecast.

Safe travels my friend!

Don't forget that RedheadWithRope will be teaching his class Going Beyond the Rope this coming Wednesday. This should be a great class on a topic that is close to my heart. Come on out and have some fun and show Redhead support as only we can!

If we do, maybe he will teach another...hint, hint.

C-y'all next month!

Peace,

Las Vegas Rope Focus Group Meets Sunday March 13th

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!!!

Hey, hey all you party people! The time has come once again to grab your gear and head on down to the Erotic Heritage Museum for a little Sunday afternoon fun.

Click Here to go to the Fetlife event page.

Click Here for the Rope Focus Group web page.

Last month we had a spectacular group, and y'all raised just over $125 to donate to the EHM. I am always floored by how generous this group can be, you make me proud.

Also, there was some bonus fun last time around. The members of the Shibari group were kind enough to donate their old bondage equipment to the museum to fill the hole that Gord left when he pulled out of the EHM project. Thank you Baron & Co. for making that possible!

With a little supervision we were able to open up the display area and make use of the gear. I am hoping we will be able to do so again.*

*That of course is up to the museum staff, and subject to change at any time.

Can't wait to see everyone there!

Peace,
Mateo

Next Rope Focus Group: Feb 13th, 2011

Hey all,
Mark your calendars, the next Rope Focus Group will be on Sunday Feb 13th.

(We had scheduled it for Feb 6th, however that is Super Bowl Sunday.)

Click Here to go to the Fetlife event page, or Click Here for the blog page describing the event.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone again. I am also contemplating demonstrating how to tie a Swiss Seat for those interested. The Swiss Seat is a sit harness good for suspension.

Peace,
Mateo

Erotic Rope Focue Group This Sunday January 9th

Hey all,

I just got off the phone with the EHM and we are all set to have the first Erotic Rope Focus group of the year!!

Once again it is time for kinky rope loving people to get together and have an afternoon hoot-n-any (that's a technical term).

Click Here for the event page.

Don't forget to bring some water and a snack for after play recovery. Also blankets and yoga mats are a good idea in case there isn't room on one of the carpets.

Peace,
Mateo
